Enjoy a chef-created lunch buffet at the Southern Vermont Writers’ Conference, followed by a 2-hour craft talk and presentation led by Sari Botton, creator and publisher of Oldster Magazine, Memoir Land, and Adventures in Journalism. Sari will share her time-honed strategies for dealing with the boondoggle that is writing about other people in your life—a subject she’s been researching and writing about for decades. In addition to her many writing skills, Sari is a skilled memoirist and longtime blogger who’s been in the trenches learning how to navigate this thorny issue for many years.
About Sari: Her memoir in essays, And You May Find Yourself...Confessions of a Late-Blooming Gen-X Weirdo, was chosen by Poets & Writers magazine for the 2022 edition of its annual "5 Over 50" feature. An essay from it received notable mention in The Best American Essays 2023, edited by Vivian Gornick.
For five years, she was the Essays Editor at Longreads. She edited the bestselling anthologies Goodbye to All That: Writers on Loving and Leaving New York and Never Can Say Goodbye: Writers on Their Unshakable Love for New York. She was the Writer in Residence in the creative writing department at SUNY New Paltz for Spring, 2023.
This craft talk with Sari Botton will take place on Monday, March 31 from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm in the Battenkill Room at The Equinox Hotel & Resort.
The registration fee of $65 includes lunch. This craft talk may be purchased individually or you can purchase all three craft talks for a special rate of $175.
