This class will provide an introduction to woodworking using both machinery and hand tools. We will explore some of the properties of wood along with basic principles of design and furniture construction. Participants will complete a small project of their choosing.

If you’ve ever wanted to make a documentary and didn’t know where to start, or if you’ve made a documentary and want to take your craft to the next level, this class is for you. This hands-on workshop will teach you the practical skills you need to tell great non-fiction stories. This interactive class focuses on three core skills for making great documentaries: how to film compelling interviews, how to shoot or find effective b-roll footage and how to edit your film.
Beginner Ceramics - Workshop #2 Date: Wednesday, March 11, 2020 Time: 6:00 pm-9:00 pm Location: Manchester Arts Studio & Gallery Fee: $180
Beginning students will learn the basic skills of hand-building, wheel-throwing techniques, surface design and glazing while more advanced students may choose to work on their own. Students will also receive two free additional hours per week of studio time to work on projects. Class fee includes registration, a 25 lb. bag of clay, use of glazes and firing of all projects made during class time.

Enjoy the look of nature’s beautiful desert plants without the prickles. In this beginner-friendly felting workshop, you will learn how to make a solid 3D sculpture entirely from wool fibers. A special barbed needle will be used and you will learn to add dimension to the basic shape and colored fibers to make your cacti bloom. After felting, you will plant your cacti in a small terra cotta pot and add decorative rocks.

In this writing workshop, we will draw upon sensory memory to coax the writer in all of us out of hiding, recognizing that memory can be a writer’s best friend. Through prompts, readings, and constructive feedback in a safe environment, participants will sharpen their creative expression and explore the forces that have shaped each of us.
