    Vocal Improvisation Workshop (June) Date: Monday, June 4, 2018 Time: 6:00 pm-7:30 pm Location: Maple Street School Fee: $45

    Discover your unique voice during this three-part workshop, which is open to everyone who enjoys singing. Vocal improvisation is fun, creative, musical and often transformative. It creates a bridge to self-expression, communication and community building. Participants will play with melody, rhythm, language and harmony. We’ll explore the rainbow of colors inherent in our voices and join with other singers to create vocal landscapes, soulful harmonies and impromptu sonic masterpieces. Bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothing. If weather permits, we may sing outside.

    When Art Imitates Life: A Workshop on Writing Creative Nonfiction Date: Wednesday, June 6, 2018 Time: 3:30 pm-6:00 pm Location: Equinox Village Fee: $60

    Creative nonfiction has been defined as that branch of writing which uses literary techniques and artistic vision (like fiction or poetry does) to report on real people/events. It can include such works as essays, autobiography, journalism, and dramatic, true stories that use scenes, dialogue, detailed descriptions and other techniques usually employed by poets and fiction writers. We will reflect on examples before crafting our own work. Bring pen, paper, experience and enthusiasm!

    Collage Painting Class Date: Saturday, June 9, 2018 Time: 9:00 am-1:00 pm Location: Long Trail School Art Room Fee: $60

    As the warm weather is upon us, it is a great time to take your painting style in a colorful new direction. Join us as we create a collage painting, working from photos of flowers, fruit, farm animals, or your choice of subject. Students will begin with an acrylic painting and then add a variety of materials including (but not limited to) assorted patterned papers, doilies, newspaper, handwritten letters, etc. to abstract and add personal meaning to their pieces. Once you have discovered the joy of collage painting, you will be hooked!

    Shakti Tribal Dance Date: Wednesday, June 13, 2018 Time: 6:30 pm-8:00 pm Location: Burr and Burton Academy Dance Studio Fee: $45

    Shakti Tribal is a dancing meditation, which allows the mind to separate from the body while blending movements that follow the Roma Gypsy style. We will begin each class with a period of stretching followed by slow movements and increasing speed. Men are welcome, although this is generally aimed toward anyone who identifies as female as we will channel the divine feminine and do not have swords to dance with! This is a class where female energy meets and is supportive each other's intentions to grow spiritually and to slow the mind.
