This ceramics workshop is designed to acquaint students with the forming and processing of clay from its raw state to the finished product, develop skills with three hand-building techniques and the wheel, understand basic glaze application, and firing techniques. Students draw from personal experiences to develop creativity and expressive content in projects. All projects made in class will be kiln fired. Materials include a 25 lb. bag of clay, and glazes . This workshop is open to all levels. Class size is limited.

Lauren Silver is the ceramics teacher at Burr and Burton Academy, in Manchester, VT. She has taught ceramics and sculpture at various schools, including Parsons School of Design, Brookdale, and Raritan Valley Community College. Her work has been shown in museums and galleries in the U.S. and Europe.
