This year’s last and possibly greatest mushroom foraging event. Hen of the Woods, Oysters, Blewits and Bears Head Tooth mushrooms will all be on the agenda. Ian Vair, local mushroom expert and chef, leads the workshop with high hopes of abundant finds. The experience will begin with education about safety, understanding field guides, types of fungus and the identification process. Culinary and medicinal applications will also be discussed. “The culinary possibilities using wild mushrooms is endless.” Join our last foraging adventure of 2019. Let’s finish the season with a giant yield of gourmet wild edible mushrooms!
Please wear comfortable shoes for hiking the woods and sloping terrain. Bring a water bottle, insect repellent, and a bag for collecting your finds. Space is limited; pre-registration is required.
*Meet in the parking lot at Merck Forest and Farmland Center in Rupert
