One month to go!  The Vermont wild edible mushroom season is soon coming to an end.  Ian Vair, local mushroom expert and chef, leads this year’s 5th mushroom foraging expedition.  Hen of the Woods, Giant Puffballs, Oysters, Blewits and Lions Mane mushrooms will all be on the list of possible finds.  “Pound for pound my best yielding months are always September and October.”  Ian will begin the foraging adventure with a discussion focusing on safety, understanding field guides, types of fungus and the identification process.  Join our workshop to gain knowledge, skills, friends and a memorable experience!

Please wear comfortable shoes for hiking the woods and sloping terrain. Bring a water bottle, insect repellent, and a bag for collecting your finds. Space is limited; pre-registration is required.

*Meet in the parking lot at Merck Forest and Farmland Center in Rupert
