August in Vermont is very special. A tremendous flush of wild edible mushrooms awaits us in the forest. Ian Vair, local mushroom expert and chef, will be leading the workshop once again. Black Trumpets, Chanterelles and various Boletus mushrooms will be a focus. “August in Vermont is absolutely a garden of fungal beauty.” Ian will begin the workshop with a discussion on safety, understanding field guides, types of fungus and the identification process. Many varieties of mushrooms will be found however only a few species will be collected for culinary or medicinal uses. Join the group for an experience filled with knowledge, wonder and excitement!
