The edible wild foraging season is upon us. Golden Chanterelle mushrooms will be a focus of our 1st workshop this year. Safety, understanding field guides, types of fungus and the identification process will all be discussed. Ian Vair, local wild mushroom expert and chef, will be leading the group. “This is a very serious subject of study with much fun and camaraderie along the way.” Come join us for a wonderful afternoon filled with knowledge and adventure!
Please wear comfortable shoes for hiking the woods and sloping terrain. Bring a water bottle, insect repellent, and a bag for collecting your finds. Space is limited; pre-registration is required.

Ian Vair is a chef and owner of Chaga Moon, a web-based business selling products made from the chaga mushroom. He and his wife also sell their products at local farmers markets. His interest in mushrooms and the study of mycology began over ten years ago and has since grown from hobby to thriving business.
