Christopher Theofanidis has had performances by many leading orchestras from around the world, including the London Symphony, the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Atlanta Symphony, the Moscow Soloists, the National, Baltimore, St. Louis, and Detroit Symphonies, among many others.
On July 11th, Manchester Music Festival features the world premiere of an original composition by Theofanidis, Quintet for Clarinet and String Quartet. MMF’s Artistic Director Adam Neiman will conduct the interview, with Christopher discussing his compositional process and detailing the composition that is premiering.
Grammy Award nominee Adam Neiman has been hailed as one of the premiere pianists of his generation. With a distinguished international career and an encyclopedic repertoire that spans more than sixty concerti, Neiman has performed as soloist with symphony orchestras across the country and abroad, as well as with the New York Chamber Symphony and the National Symphony Orchestra of Washington D.C. He has recently been appointed the artistic director of the Manchester Music Festival. He is also founder and CEO of the record label Aeolian Classics and recently created the Aeolian Classics Emerging Artist Award Competition at the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, where he is assistant professor of piano.
