The fall mushroom season kicks off! This workshop will focus on foraging medicinal polypores, puffballs, hen of the wood, and many more. Safety, field guide comprehension, foraging techniques, and thorough identification will be paramount. Medicinal properties, potential toxicity and various culinary uses will be discussed.

Please wear comfortable shoes for hiking the woods and sloping terrain. Bring a water bottle, insect repellent, and a bag for collecting your finds. Space is limited; pre-registration is required.

Ian Vair is a chef and owner of Chaga Moon, a web-based business selling products made from the chaga mushroom. He and his wife also sell their products at local farmers markets. His interest in mushrooms and the study of mycology began over ten years ago and has since grown from hobby to thriving business.
